the End in Sight
To be the last Poem of 2021
If you knew the end was coming,
what would you do?
See all your favourite old spots,
or visit some place new?
If you have 300 days,
the end feels far way.
No rush to change activities,
you continue work and play.
But always deep down,
you feel the creeping doom.
No pint to start a new thing,
just ward away the gloom.
Now if it was a certainty,
you think you would do more.
Yet there is a sliver of a chance,
to escape from doom's door.
Procrastination is your friend,
as it has all ways been.
Half an effort is better than none,
and its the best they've ever seen.
Count the good you have done,
ponder the projects yet to begin.
Consider how you helped them all,
but it is outweighed by that one sin.
Maybe you are not the sort,
to give in to despair.
Yet you never really know,
till your in the dragon's lair.
Fight to the end, its very brave.
Lose all that you have earned.
Drift in dreams of the past.
Ponder what you have learned.
Note; This was written in April of 2021, with the intent of being the last poem I will post before I face the doom I know is coming for me later in this year.
