More gloomy than Rain

Raindrops                   February, 2020

Flowers bloom in the liquid sunshine.
I want everything that is not mine.

Rainbows ripping apart fluffy clouds.
I wander within the zombie crowds.

Birds happy to circle far overhead.
I wonder often why Im not yet dead.

Trees blossom as itchy winds blow.
I want you to stay, it is I who must go.

Grass underfoot cuts like a knife.
I want happiness, not this messed up life.

I was asked “How dark of a poem can you make?”
Absence is my answer.

Dark are the days, with no hope in sight.
Long are the hours, alone every night.
Black is my mood, absent of light.
Cold my heart, bathed in fright.

Doctor 1 & 2

Dr Suzz Coffee Poem.        2020

Coffee is the greatest stuff.
You do not need to huff and puff.
Coffee gives much relief.
So you don’t need to be a thief.

You can find it anyplace.
They even have it in outer space.
You can drink it night or day.
They serve it here and far away.

Coffee can calm you down.
Without it you may bitch and frown.
Coffee can unite us all.
Without it we may slip and fall.

So give me coffee will you, please?
It helps with the shaking of my knees.

Wanting Tomorrow.        2020

What we need is a doctor, who can make us whole.
What we have is a clown, who is not even droll.

Can you tell me what we must do,
to brake the old and make things new?

Can you show me how to be a good man,
fight when I must, help when I can?

Is there a way we can set things right?
Cast out the dark, bring on the light.

Snow 1 & 2

Snowday Poem.        January 2020.

Snow fall brightens the day.

Makes the customers go away.

The food here is really good.

But watch you step in this neighborhood.

Winter days are long and cold.

Watching the clock as I grow old.

Would you like a sub?

Or spend all day in the bathtub?

Drink your hot cup of Joe.

Then get back out there in the snow.

Snow, snow, will it stop?

Business today has been a flop.

Now try reading it to the tune of IronMan.

Sunday Stroll.  February  2020.

Shadows crawl across the snow.

It will soon be time for me to go.

The cold bites my fingers and nose.

My boots are heavy with numb toes.

Alone I walk this mid winter’s day.

Wishing to find a friend on the way.

Footprints behind me, nothing in front.

Are there wolves, out there on the hunt?

Home, home, never again to that place.

Simply a walk to my dwelling space.

January 2020

Uplift.               January 2020.

Emotions are like the tide.
Reality is the road.
Every day we ride.
Catching what we sowed.

Today you are so high.
Tomorrow maybe low.
Look up to the bright sky.
Believe that you will grow.

Educational Poem of the night.    January 2020.

When your Barrister tells your Barista the coffee is too hot.
She may just trot over to the Ballista to show him what she got.
She will set your balls on fire and launch them over the wall.
When the Barista aims the Ballista, who knows where the balls will fall.

*a ballista is an ancient Roman weapon that did fire stone balls. But auto correct does not like this word.

Space 1 & 2

A poem in space.     September 2019

Space is really really big,
going to the next star,
is amazingly far,
do ya dig?

It aint no simple joy ride,
to blast off super fast,
is a problem we past,
now we just glide.

Weightless in space you will be,
unless gravity by spin,
you make for the win,
of a healthy you and me.

We need a lot of fuel to get going,
acceleration also feels like gravity,
it gives you lots of delta vee,
but save some fuel for slowing.

Poem in Space 2.      October 2019

Looking at the edge of space,
a lonely member of the human race,
wishing to fly from this place?

A great expanse of man,
that is our hope and plan.
Being better than we are,
over there on that star.

Clean and happy our new world will be.
Yes, just you wait and see.
Hate shall not follow us there,
poverty replaced with what is fare.

Can this dream come true?
Can we build something new?
Or will our problems follow along,
the weak subjugated by the strong.

Looking up to the distant stars,
but we haven't even reached Mars.
Will we ever leave this place?
Can we improve the human race?

Odd ends 2019

30 Second Poem

The flowers are blue, the sky is grey.

The music flows true, stars so far away.

Lets dance me and you, wild for just a day.

Grab hold its all so new, better than I can say.

Imagine all we can do, wake me up I want to stay.

6am poem of darkness;

Father can you forgive me, from the other side.
Mother looks at me, without an ounce of pride.
Iv made a mess of everything, on life’s bumpy ride.
Now the dark hours pass, with no one at my side.

Summer’s End            September 2019

Can this be the first cold day of fall?

Has the summer sun given its all?

I look to the overcast sky and pray,

that the cold rain will stay away.

Will winter’s wind soon be howling loud?

No more sounds of the happy crowd.

How can the months pass so fast?

Why cant good times ever last?

It is the end of the season now.

Time for the sun to take a bow.

Truth is everything comes and goes.

Life is not static, it ebbs and flows.

Uplift the Broken

Picking up Pieces         2019

Thought I was missing them,
life was empty cause they were gone.
Thought I was torn apart,
cause they left me with a broken heart.

But it wasn’t them I really missed.
Every day empty cause they were gone.
It was the old me, I had lost.
Pieces of life, to the four winds tossed.

Thought revenge would be nice.
Years down the road they look my way,
Im smiling, sad no longer.
Haters can choke on their anger.

Picking the pieces off the ground,
night by night cause I need to find a way,
to sculpt the old into the new,
to uplift the beautiful, broken and true.

Be not Drowned

Spring Forward     April 2019

Grey winter melts in the sun,
the new life of spring has won.
Cold rain no more at my door,
warm light now covers my floor.

The expectation of summer’s joy,
remembered from when I was a boy.
Plans and hopes for this bright season,
I smile at the world without reason.

Life is painful and never fair,
so many people who just don't care.
Yet moments of good can be found,
in your tears you need not be drowned.

Garden Monsters

Monsters in the Garden March 2019

The hidden world,
invites you in.
Its dangers are many,
its rewards sweet as sin.

If you seek it out,
cross to the other side.
Horrific and lovely,
its often a one-way ride.

It is close to you,
yet forever far away.
Inviting and dangerous,
no place for fools to play.

Your sword and armour,
will not help you at all.
It is courage you need,
to avoid a fatal fall.

Creepers and crawlers,
you can spot them fast.
But can you out run them,
will your strength last?

The hidden world,
shall not be seen.
Wonderful and terrible,
like no place you’ve been.

Sunday fun day

Sun-Day   March 2019

Ten thousand years ago,
they worshiped the sun.
Were they serious,
or was it all in fun?

Its a bright glowing ball,
far away in the sky.
Its not a god at all,
did they believe a lie?

Yet the sun does have power,
you must admit that.
It gives life to all plants,
so just take off your hat.

Think for a moment,
about dark winter days.
How depressed you are,
with gray fog and haze.

When bright brakes the sun,
it can make flowers bloom.
You will smile and have fun,
it will banish the gloom.

March 2019

Take my Hand.      March 2019

Will you hold me in the dark and cold?
Will we stay together as we grow old?
Is our love strong enough to last?
Can we overcome the past?

Take my hand and say you’ll try.
Laugh and love, care and cry.

Am I able to make your lonely life right?
Are you happy to stay night after night?
Is our love enough to carry us along?
Can we help each other be that strong?

Take my hand and say you’ll try.
Laugh and love, care and cry.

The gift of an unreality.     March 2019

The internet gives us a world,
not quite a dream, not quite reality.
A place we may find a near perfect love.
Romance, mixed with a sweet sadness,
In touch any time, text, audio, video,
yet always distant, never touching.

This dream world can lift us up,
it can inspire the positive side.
It can be of great value.
Yet it is not fully real.
The greatest pleasure and problems,
are missing from the dream world.

Reality is full of good and bad,
in a way that the internet is not.
Being close in the real world,
we can love and laugh,
but also argue and agitate.

Enjoy the unreal world,
we all visit each day.

Q & A

Questions & Answers;   March 2019
This is based on Feb’s poem that was full of questions.

Are you willing to learn about me?
Everything you allow to be uncovered.
I'm willing to learn about you.
But will you accept the secrets of the past?

What things tick you off and make you scream?
Not many words or acts have that power today.
When you grow silent what does it means?
That I care enough to consider my words carefully.

What can you do, when I panic?
Calmly tell you, Im here when your ready.
Will you hold me, when I shut down?
Calmly being there, until you are ready.

Can I trust you to catch me when I fall?
No, but I will help you up as soon as I can.
Or will you be the one to confirm that what
I've always known all along?
No, I will be the one to surprise you in a way
you never thought possible.

Elf & Mermaid

Mermaid

Mermaid, Mermaid in the tub,
you splish and splash, as I gently rub
away, all of the day’s sticky dirt
and sooth life's bitter hurt.

In the water you love to play,
I wish I could join you someday.
Mermaid, Mermaid, your tail is so fine,
I wish that soon you will be mine.

Elf
The beautiful elf liked to stand,
on top the highest hill in the land.
In dark or light she would sing,
sweet music for the distant king.

Her soul pure, yet so very sad.
Her life hard, yet not always bad.
The beautiful elf wanted to be free,
she hoped for love, just like you or me.

Missing Elf

In the land far off by the sea,
I stood for about a century.
Watching the waves come and go,
Feeling the rain, sun and snow.
Hopping to see my long lost elf,
I stood all alone, by my self.

Big & Small

Still Standing           2019

Huge and silent, the giant loomed in the dark.
High over head, the dead watched the park.

Fast they were nearing, the ancient clearing,
swords and shields in hand.
The giant felt them near, the time was here,
foolish little warrior band.

Screams and blood, like a flood, washed the dirt.
Huge and silent, stood the giant, again unhurt.

30 second Poem

Roses are red.
Kittens are furry.
This poem will be short,
cause Im in a hurry.

a new year

Moving On.           January 12, 2019

I want to stop, crying over you.
I want to move on, to someone new.

Try as i might,
hard as I fight,

My heart still belongs, to hour home.
No matter how far, I may roam.

This isn't right.
The sun’s never bright.
Alone am I, every night.

But all I can do now, is move on.
The love we had, is now gone.

Try as i might,
hard as I fight,

There is no going back, to the past.
We need to find some peace at last.

So there’ll be no more, crying over you.
There’ll be a life, that is brand new.

Shadow & Rain

Shadow & Rain’s Song draft 5              Dec 2018

First edit

I close my eyes and reach out my hand,
there is no distance between us, no far off land.
We dance together on a warm summer’s night,
our shadows are one in the firer’s light.

The realist will offer a hundred reasons why,
its to complicated to work between you and I.
The romantic will say; be strong and try.
Its so tragic, if you let your heart die.

Will we both hesitate to jump in to love?
Afraid to drown, yet wanting a shove.
Nothing changes, until you take hold.
Life moves blindly unless you are bold.

I open my eyes and reach out my hand,
together in the rain we will one day stand.
We can make it happen if we take a chance,
We can love and laugh, cry and dance.

Dont let your heart die, after all you’ve been through.
Dont give up on love, reach for something new.
