When Doom is Upon You

Day of the Jackaloon.      May, 2021

The hardest thing there is to do,

have a nice day, when doom is upon you.

Being glum does not help at all,

but its real hard to have a ball,

when doom is upon you.

Its always there in your head,

soon to be over and you to be dead.

Try to smile and laugh at life,

don't cause others so much strife,

when doom is upon you.

Maybe you can escape your doom,

As much chance as a flight to the moon.

When there's life there's hope.

You can cling to that,

or you can cuddle with a cat.

When doom is upon you.

Every poet is a loser.

Poetry in Motion.      May, 2021.
...
Not every poem is a winner,
rhyming like a beautiful song.
But every poet is a loser,
having seen so much that went wrong.
...
There aren't many happy songs about success.
We mostly wright about struggle and stress.
Joyful times don't inspire like pain.
We laugh in the sun, wright in the rain.
...
Not every poem is a winner,
memorable and moving.
But every poet is a loser,
his own words are never soothing.
